Lake Tahoe Boating Accident Claims Eight Lives, Including DoorDash Executive and His Parents

Eight people died in a tragic boating accident on Lake Tahoe on June 21. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 27-foot

boat carrying ten passengers capsized near D.L. Bliss State Park during a sudden storm. Strong winds and rough water were cited as key factors.

Among the victims were 37-year-old Joshua Antony Pickles, a DoorDash executive from San Francisco, and his parents, Paula Bozinovich

and Terry Pickles of Redwood City. Others killed included Peter Bayes of Lincoln, Timothy O’Leary of Auburn, Theresa Giullari and

James Guck of Honeoye, New York, and Stephen Lindsay of Springwater, New York. Two passengers survived but have not been identified publicly.

Recovery operations ended June 23 after the last missing victim was located. The Sheriff’s Office worked alongside

the U.S. Coast Guard and California State Parks in extensive search and recovery efforts. Officials believe

the storm developed quickly, leaving the group little time to react before the boat overturned.

The community is mourning the eight lives lost. Authorities extended condolences to the families and urged boaters to remain cautious,

emphasizing the importance of monitoring fast-changing summer weather that can turn dangerous within minutes.
