The start of summer in Florida turned tragic when 11-year-old Jordan Roe lost her life in a tubing accident at Star Lake on June 24, 2025.
Known by her family as “the protector,” Jordan lived up to that name in her final moments. Spending the day tubing
with cousins Laila, 8, and Brylee, 9, the children were thrown into the water when their jet ski struck a dock.
At first, officials misidentified the victim as Laila, but it was later confirmed Jordan had passed away.
Family members believe she shielded her cousins from the impact, saving them.
Laila was critically injured and has undergone several surgeries, while Brylee sustained minor injuries.
Their mother, Kristine Robinson, caring for a newborn in Tampa when she received the call, urged families
to cherish every moment: “Hold your babies tight… accidents happen in a blink.”
Jordan, who dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, continues to save lives through organ donation. Her sacrifice
and generosity have already helped others. Two GoFundMe campaigns were created to support her funeral and Laila’s
recovery, drawing nationwide support. Neighbors at Star Lake remain shaken, remembering Jordan as
a hero whose legacy will endure through the cousin she protected and lives she touched.
