Climate Scientist Warns ‘The Worst Is Yet To Come’ As Winds Gain Speed Causing Aircrafts to Ground and Buildings Continuing to Burn in Palisades Fire

Climate scientists warn that the worst is yet to come as devastating wildfires, fueled by

high winds, continue to wreak havoc in Los Angeles County. With gusts reaching 80 to 100 MPH,

rescue and relief efforts have been severely hampered, including the grounding of aircraft operations.

Reports indicate that around 1,000 structures have been destroyed, and limited water supplies

are exacerbating the crisis. Tragically, two fatalities have been reported, prompting the

California governor to declare a state of emergency. Thousands have already been evacuated,

with many more in the process of being moved to safer locations.

Margaret Stewart from the LA Fire Department confirmed that officials are closely monitoring

the situation to assess when it will be safe to resume air travel for firefighting and rescue operations.

Meanwhile, firefighters continue their tireless efforts on the ground to control the flames

despite the extreme conditions. The wildfires serve as a stark reminder of the increasing

threats posed by climate change and the urgent need for mitigation and preparedness.
