Man Arrested for Starting LA Fire Burning Over 960 Acres

Authorities arrested a man accused of starting a wildfire in Los Angeles County that has scorched more than 960 acres.

The fire, which began on Tuesday, spread rapidly due to dry conditions and strong winds, prompting evacuations in the Angeles National Forest. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was detained on Wednesday. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, he is suspected of starting the fire intentionally.

The fire has damaged several structures and threatened hundreds more. “We are working tirelessly to contain the blaze and protect communities,” said LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone. Over 500 firefighters are battling the fire, assisted by air tankers and helicopters.

While the cause is still under investigation, the suspect remains in custody, and authorities are focusing on containment efforts. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and follow evacuation orders.
