Former Child Star Died Trying To Escape L.A. Wildfires

Rory Callum Sykes, a 32-year-old former child actor known for Kiddy Kapers,

tragically died in the Los Angeles wildfires on January 8. The British-born actor,

who was blind and had cerebral palsy, had recently moved to Malibu from Sydney. His mother,

Shelley, confirmed his death and shared her heartbreak, recounting how she was

unable to save him due to a broken arm. Sykes died from carbon monoxide poisoning

caused by the fire. The wildfires, which started on January 7, have claimed at least 11 lives
