How “Miracle” House Survived Blaze Untouched

Amid the Malibu wildfires, David Steiner’s $9 million mansion survived untouched while

nearby homes were reduced to ashes. The 4,200-square-foot property, designed with

fireproof features like stucco walls and a fireproof roof, stood resilient against the

blaze. Steiner, who initially feared his home would be lost, was surprised by its survival.

Though the house wasn’t his primary residence, he expressed humility, noting the losses

of others were far more significant. The fire has caused an estimated $135-150 billion

in damages, destroying over 5,300 structures and claiming at least 10 lives
