Obama-Appointed Judge Grants

A federal judge ruled in favor of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),

allowing access to student loan data despite objections from student groups. U.S. District

Judge Randolph D. Moss denied a temporary restraining order sought by the University of California Student Association (UCSA),

which argued it would violate privacy rights. Moss, an Obama appointee, ruled UCSA’s members

wouldn’t suffer irreparable harm, citing a 1984 case. The ruling supports Musk’s plan to cut

federal spending by $2 trillion annually, including reductions in student loan funding.

Acting Secretary of Education Denise Carter can now provide the data to DOGE.
