A Democrat from Arizona, passed away at 77 years old.

Rep. Raúl Grijalva of Arizona has passed away at 77 due to cancer treatment complications,

his office announced Thursday. He revealed his diagnosis in April 2024.Elected in 2002,

Grijalva was a key figure in the House Natural Resources Committee, a strong environmental advocate,

and a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Known for his kind nature, he represented

a solidly Democratic district near the U.S.-Mexico border and won reelection last November

by 25 points.His seat will be filled through a special election. His passing follows the recent death of Texas Rep. Sylvester Turner.
