A woman’s attempt to test her date’s generosity took a surprising turn when she invited 23 family members
to their blind date. Hoping to gauge his willingness to share, her plan quickly backfired.
Mr. Lui, the date, had initially planned to treat Miss Zhang at his favorite restaurant,
but was stunned to find her entire extended family present. As the dinner unfolded in Zhejiang,
China, it became clear that Mr. Lui was not prepared to cover the bill for 24 people.
He promptly left, leaving Zhang responsible for the 20,000 yuan ($3,100) bill.
Following the fiasco, Zhang filed a lawsuit, but the court ruled that Mr.
Lui only needed to pay 1,400 yuan.
