My 25-year-old son married Tina, a 23-year-old woman. At first, everything
was all right. They even had a baby, but then, as if it were unimportant,
my DIL began to bring up his adultery on occasion. She even had evidence
that he had cheated on her several times, as it turned out. To put it mildly,
I was extremely embarrassed because that is not how I raised my son.
To my surprise, Tina was the only one who would forgive him for the sake of illustration,
despite my advice that she could file for divorce if she so desired. After a while,
my son found another woman and made the decision to file for divorce. Now that
she has a one-year-old child and must rely on herself, Tina is having difficulties.
I received a call from my son inviting us to his wedding. I questioned him
about his infidelity toward Tina. “Well, Tina is great,
but I deserve someone better,” he said with a laugh. I hung up the phone
right away because I was shocked and furious. I visited Tina’s home on the
day of our son’s wedding. She appeared to be very exhausted, the baby was
crying on the sofa, and she was renting a tiny, outdated room. I looked after
the baby and helped her with household chores. I advised, her to get some sleep.
I also packed some cake and cookies. I was called by my son, who wanted to
know where my husband and I were. “I’m at your ex-wife’s house,” I answered.
I am embarrassed by you because you are a horrible husband. After becoming
irate, my son has stopped communicating with us. Perhaps I was overreacting.
