Lisa Terrell’s father, Edward, raised her with love after her mother
passed away in a hurricane. He was injured while saving Lisa, leaving
him in a wheelchair. Despite his sacrifices, Lisa became embarrassed by
him as she grew older, avoiding bringing him to school events and eventually
deciding he shouldn’t attend her wedding. When Lisa’s fiancé, Harrison,
invited Edward to dinner, Lisa reluctantly agreed. At the dinner, Edward was kind and well-received,
but Lisa was mortified by his wheelchair. A few weeks before the wedding,
Lisa told Edward he wouldn’t be attending, citing the exclusivity
of the event and her embarrassment about him walking,
her down the aisle. Lisa later watched a TV interview where Edward
shared his heroic story of saving her from the hurricane and suffering
a spinal injury in the process. Overcome with guilt,
Lisa realized how wrong she had been. On her wedding day, she publicly
apologized to Edward, admitting her mistake and expressing her regret
for being ashamed of him. Edward forgave her, and the emotional moment moved everyone at the wedding.
