Lake Tahoe Boat Crash Claims Lives of DoorDash Exec and Parents

Authorities have identified the eight people who died in a tragic

boating accident on Lake Tahoe on June 21. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s

Office released their names on June 24 following extensive recovery efforts.

The group had been riding in a 27-foot Chris-Craft boat when it

capsized during a sudden storm. The incident occurred near D.L. Bliss State Park, catching the passengers off guard.

Among the victims was Joshua Antony Pickles, 37, a DoorDash executive

from San Francisco. He perished alongside his parents, Paula Bozinovich,

71, and Terry Pickles, 73, both from Redwood City. The other lives lost

included Peter Bayes, 72, of Lincoln; Timothy O’Leary, 71, of Auburn;

and Theresa Giullari, 66, and James Guck, 69, of Honeoye, New York.

Stephen Lindsay, 63, of Springwater, New York, was also among the deceased.

A total of ten people had been aboard the boat, with only two surviving the accident;

their names have not been released. The final missing person was recovered

on June 23, bringing closure to the search. Investigators believe the

boat overturned due to strong winds and rough waves during the sudden storm.

Weather conditions shifted rapidly, contributing to the deadly outcome.

The Sheriff’s Office expressed heartfelt condolences to the families

affected by the tragedy. They extended gratitude to the many agencies

involved in the search and recovery, including the U.S. Coast Guard and

California State Parks. The community continues to mourn the unexpected

loss of eight lives. Officials are urging caution for future

boaters as summer storms grow increasingly unpredictable.
