Michigan Strip Club Faces Backlash From Residents Over ‘Controversial’ Sign

In May 2016, a Michigan strip club, Miceli’s Corner, sparked controversy after posting a sign that

read “Now Hiring Class of 2016,” seeking “gorgeous, confident, and talented women” for dance floor positions.

Aimed at recent high school graduates, the sign went viral, drawing criticism from local residents who felt

it sent an inappropriate message to young women. Lisa Mulholland, a local, called the sign in poor taste,

although she stated she had no issue with the club itself. Another resident, Lisa Dickerson,

expressed concern that young graduates should not be encouraged to work in a strip club.

The club later issued an apology, stating the sign was intended as a joke and not meant to offend anyone
