People Are Just Realizing Why….

The small bow on women’s underwear is often seen as a cute, feminine detail, and it also helps

distinguish the front from the back when dressing in a hurry. Some suggest the tradition dates

back to when elastic bands were not yet common, and underwear was fastened with a ribbon through

eyelet lace, tied in a bow. However, there’s little evidence to fully support this claim.

Historically, women wore undergarments like chemises and drawers, which evolved in the 19th

century to include more ornate designs, possibly incorporating decorative bows. It’s also

possible the bow was simply added for charm and has no historical significance
