CNN’s Jake Tapper observed a tense greeting between President Biden,
Vice President Harris, and their spouses at former President Jimmy Carter’s
funeral, noting it wasn’t “particularly warm.” There was little eye contact
or handshakes. Tapper also reflected on how Biden started the year as a potential
Democratic nominee but faced unexpected challenges. He added that while the cold
reception could be attributed to the funeral setting, Harris has expressed she
isn’t going quietly and is considering a California governor’s
race in 2026, seen as a strong possibility by her supporters
